Baptism notes Miss S 2022

Baptism is often seen as strange, mystical or religious, yet there is so much more to it.
Jesus commanded the Church Baptise people.
The Holy Spirit commands individuals to be Baptism, but as always, humans turn it into a religious stance and use it for division! Differing traditions exist: From a baby being sprinkled somehow being safe from everything for eternity, to someone having to have to be baptised 3 times, say specific prayers, not bath for a week afterwards! BOTH positions miss the point. The Bible makes it clear: there is no Free Pass due to a sprinkling, and …

The Truth about Lies!

The TRUTH about lies:

  • Lies can be incredibly powerful.
  • Lies only hold power if they are believed.
  • Lies don’t have to be true to be believed.
  • Lies cause the same result as if it were true.
  • Lies are often hidden from the one who believes them.
  • Lies can be illogical and contradictory.
  • Lies are normally learned by experience (as opposed to logic).
  • Lies can be believed internally (and can be couter to the persons logical belief).
  • Lies held internally are far more powerful than those held mentally.
  • Humans can hold to two opposing beliefs at the same time. One is obviously a lie!

There is only one defence against lies = Truth!

“I AM THE
TRUTH”

How many who think they have a good religion are hiding from the true God

False religions are everywhere. It is a bizarre reality – with so many different camps believing they are the ones that are correct. Who is right? Who is wrong? The answer is quite simple, but will likely surprise you… Make sure you are in the right camp!

Bees, Bee suits and Beekeepers

The last few days, the warmer weather has excited a hive of bees that had moved into an old dead blackboy a couple of years ago… It has resulted in a few bee stings, and some of the smaller children are fairly allergic. One poor fella’s hand quite badly swollen for a couple of days.  Having visitors coming, we thought it best to try to do something about them today. Our local bee keeper David McCormick kindly offered to come and help, right on dark.  It’s rare to come across someone who loves their profession as much and is friendly enough …

Thank you for your prayers

For those I have not personally thanked: I wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU! The last 2 years have been the hardest of my life, but for those who have helped practically and prayed / sent love – I am deeply, deeply grateful. From myself, Sharmini and the children – thank you – I would not have made it without your support. For nearly a year I could not get up – I was literally confined to a table in the front room lying on my stomach. Even a short stint upright on crutches had major consequences. It …

Love-Without it we are nothing.

Love: Without it we are nothing. If I asked “what is love?” what comes to mind? Liking something – a thing or activity? Feeling attracted to a particular person? Wanting to be near someone? Being happy around them? Experiencing comfort while with them? Engaging in good conversation with them? Enjoying the same activities? Avoiding conflict / keeping the peace with someone? Is love something we can touch or taste or feel? Is it summed up by a phrase that is used sometimes: ‘that person completes me’? There are many things that are common answers as to what love is, but …

Is your King a Lamb Palm Sunday 2020

We are living in world that is rapidly changing, sometimes hour by hour. Rules and regulations from government, health and safety advice, food, work and travel is constant change. At this point in time, we have to go through a police checkpoint that is manned by state emergency service and army personnel. If we do not have written documentation from government to say we can pass, we get turned around – we are not allowed to our nearest food shops or the metro area. Public opinion has swiftly changed from that of freedom to that of quarantine (and anger at …

COVID Fear

Isolation. Fear. Helplessness. Depression. Uncertainty. Grief. Panic. Paranoia. Despair. These things are rampant at the moment and the best advice people give is generally ‘remember this will pass’, ‘be prepared’ or ‘avoid the bad news’… But really the remedy for fear is not avoidance of bad situations. Neither is it ‘faith’ in the sense of believing everything will be ok. Rather it is a heart (not just a mind) connected with the One and only true God. Not the god of our own understanding, not the god of religions that say you must earn this or that by good works, …

Are you hungry?

Or do you just want food? Matthew 15:29-39 Not many educated people would deny the birth and life of Jesus Christ. History shows clearly He existed around 2000 years ago and was indeed killed. His actions made a huge impact on His society and to those around Him – especially the miracles He performed. His fame spread far and wide – people travelled for miles to come and get the healing they could not find anywhere else. And He healed them *all*. Here and now, today, it’s so easy to get discouraged when we don’t get the healing we want …

One Crazy Day in our life – and the end of our Bus?

Ted: The new name for our bus[riddle]A day in our life – no this is not made up… Our life can be very varied day to day. Whether it is family issues, the business, our living ‘camp’ or building – things can change dramatically from one moment to the next. Today, I thought I would give a small insight into our day: 6:30 Perusal Bible & Reading & send a message on the scripture message thread we have for the family. 6:50 Sorting the freight parcels 7:00 Sharmini gets back from her run asking for ministry. An argument between us escalates – not normal, and could …

Rachael Denhollander Vitim or Victor

Rachael DenhollanderVictim or Victor? Today, I read an excerpt from former gymnast Rachael Denhollander’s victim impact statement. It was moving and powerful to say the least. Having spent much time with survivors of sexual abuse her words reveal so much to both those struggling, those abusing and those in charge of making sure others are protected. It is so incredibly sad that so many precious young lives had to be tainted so deeply before this case came to light. It always grips me when I see people who have been wounded by the people who were meant to love them. The life-changing …

Going through a hard time? Read This!

Are you going through a hard time? A lot are right now and might not be what you think…Trials now or later? We will have them – but when and what will you embrace? Scripture(s): James 4, Hebrews 12 I am continually talking to people at the moment and hearing stories where it seems everything is going wrong. Very wrong. Hard times can come from a lot of different places …

Jesus – Foundation for Life…and building!

Topic: What makes a good foundation? Scripture(s): Psalm 118:22, Psalm 127:1-2 Today we had our compaction test…after a huge week with many trials and joys, the results were not what we expected.
