This morning, we received another email from a lost soul, trying to have a joke. I really love how, when responding to people like this, we are forced to remember how we were before Jesus rescued us from our delusion:
“. God . . ?🥴 So many gods to choose between , if you are that way inclined 🤔 Not a weakness I ever would need 😀
. I will definitely decline your offers as I have now purchased some Devilishly Wicked headphones to blast my sweet sounds straight from the savage depths of HELL .
Thanks anyway , and hope your God keeps you safe and covid free 😷 Thanks for your offer nevertheless .”
As I was busy trying to tie up some loose ends I didn’t want to spend too long responding. Here is my response (I would love any feedback or criticism, I want my responses to be effective!):
Hi there,
There is actually only One real God. Sure, many have made ‘god’s’ in their own image or for their own purpose, but that doesn’t detract from the true God’s reality or existence. You say it is a weakness, and I understand your point – it’s just you are wrong. You think your life is fine & you are the master of it – but that’s not true. That why there are things that you can’t control nor change, despite your efforts. You likely have the continual need for distraction and ’things’, yet you think you are strong?
Trying going without *anything* for 30 days. No TV, no music, no games, no buying or scrolling or browsing, no food. Then see how strong you are…let me know how it goes. But you won’t. You likely won’t even be able to try, pushing away any notion of anything that may threaten your delusion. So much for strong!
I’ve been where you are. You are not in a secure position.
When it all comes crashing down, when you are finally forced to face reality, remember: Jesus Alone Saves!
Seriously – He is the only One who claimed to be God, then proved it. Not just to hundreds of eye witnesses, but to thousands and thousands, (like me), who were in your position. Knowing best, not needing anything, master of our own destiny and then BOOM! Our ives invaded and completely changed by a real, living, knowing, caring God.A God who is real, powerful and will judge those who ignore what His Son did, sending them to a very real hell. A hell I never thought existed, but one that I know you are heading towards. If only you knew, you would not joke about it. This life, this planet, this universe, will cease to exist one day. Your things and your thoughts then will mean nothing. I will be praying for you.
May the God of the Universe enlighten you to His reality, the fact that your sin is currently counting against you and Jesus’ massive gift to you is waiting.
God Bless mate.
And seriously if you want to chat or debate or sound off – feel free. I am not threatened by your position – I am daily thankful I have been rescued from it.– Adam
I also followed up with a joke that I thought he might like (an idea from my 12 year old son).
“How do you make holy water? 💦”
🤔
– You boil the HELL out of it!!! 🔥 –
🤣🤣🤣
One of the things this nameless person stated :
“Remember only a believer can Go to his HELL”
Imagine if that were true!?
Only someone who believes in electricity can be killed by it?
Only someone who believes in trucks can be hit by them?
Only someone who believes in CoVid?
The truth is: the truth is!
Belief doesn’t change *anything* – if you don’t believe something exists, if can still affect or kill you.
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. Romans 1:20-24 (NLT)
Truth is, we try to make up anything to try to avoid facing The Truth.
As always, we will be praying for this nameless person – may God’s love and conviction hit him. And may he one day come face to face with The Truth.
