Do you need forgiveness?

The amazing thing is, it comes with an optional offer of *guaranteed* forgiveness (for everything you have ever done!)! For many, the question “Do you need forgiveness?” results in 3 answers – which reflects you? : “I don’t need forgiveness” “I have to earn forgiveness” “I deserve to be forgiven” The truth is though, we have all violated the rules of the Creator. Some of us know His rules and break them deliberately, others do it without realising, others can’t resist. Either way, the fine *must* be paid. The God who created the universe says that lying, stealing, lust and …

Love Wins – Transgender Terrorist labelled victim – Nashville Covenant School

My heart grieves, not only for the victims’ families, but also for the masses of precious young people being duped into a lie. I know what it is like to live with self-hatred, depression, and addiction. I know what it is like to be ostracised and rejected and bullied. I know what it is like to have questions and confusion about who I am / was (identity). But, speaking from experience, I can honestly say it was when my eyes were opened to who God made me to be, who I *actually* was, (not what other people thought, not what …

Forgiveness for ‘sale’ – 100% Guaranteed for Catholics

You might be surprised by the claim that you can be forgiven for *everything* you have ever done. That’s right, 100%, guaranteed, no matter what you have done! You may have been told there is a long list of things you must do (and and even longer list of things you must not do) to be forgiven, but this is not true… These rules and regulations are man-made and form the basis of almost all religions, spread by well meaning, but deceived people.   Religious Rules: Keep the 10 Commandments  Get Baptised  Confess your sins to a priest  Do Penance …

My life – a total disaster!

Looking back on my life – I see so many errors and mistakes: – the way I treated ‘friends’ and partners, – the way I broke the law and hated anyone who tried to uphold or enforce it, – the way I wasted my energy on selfish pleasures and ‘my empire’, – the way I abused my body in the pursuit of money or ‘fun’– the way I neglected responsibilities and time for those who mattered.  – the way I could not even see other people’s point of view – the way I did *everything* for my own pleasure or good  …

Anzac Day 2022 – did they die in vain ?

It’s hard to imagine the sacrifices, the hardship endured by others to try to ensure our freedom. But did they die in vain?  Months or even years away from family, friends, parents or children.  No showers, cleanliness or dry socks. That’s right – itchy, infected feet swollen in boots – that was normal.  Sickness, disease and experimental ‘medicine’.  High stress environment: continually being shot at, attacked and killed.  Watching friends and allies die regularly.  Being commanded to kill other humans. Seeing horrible and disgusting acts that haunt them for life…if they survive.  Many, too young to know any better, had …

The true cost of Spikenard and the Alabaster Jar

I love some fragrances – not man made ones, but certain herbs or flowers or spices – they are incredible.  What is your favourite aroma? Coffee? Fresh kaffir lime leaves? Basil? Coriander? Lavender? Roses? Frangipani? Saffron? Frankincense? There are so many it is incredible – each one evoking different feelings and memories – and many having a positive effect on the mind or body.  Have you ever smelled (essence of) Nard? Me neither! As of writing this though I am going to endeavour to get some…why? Because of it’s huge significance in the below story that should encourage and captivate you …

Worse than the death of a child: Lindy Chamberlain and the Dingo

Suffering the loss of a child is one of the most painful human emotional experiences for a parent. But imagine, knowing it was a violent death and then being accused of being the one who did it.  That was the plight of Lindy Chamberlain: after witnessing a dingo take her baby from a tent, she was found guilty of murdering her baby and then spent 4 years in jail before new evidence led to her release.  It would be 26 years later before the real cause of death to her beloved baby was a dingo. What a tragic and emotionally crushing …

How to fully forgive the UNFORGIVABLE!

Many religious people (and those with a more advanced knowledge of psychology), know the importance of forgiveness. Many know that harbouring unforgiveness is very damaging mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  For this reason, a lot of people try to forgive – they really do try – and many would say they have succeeded in ‘letting this person go’, ‘moving on’ or ‘put that behind them’.  While the intent may be good (or even great!), it normally does not even start to address the real depth of forgiveness that is needed. And even if it does, it is virtually always missing a …

Rachael Denhollander Vitim or Victor

Rachael DenhollanderVictim or Victor? Today, I read an excerpt from former gymnast Rachael Denhollander’s victim impact statement. It was moving and powerful to say the least. Having spent much time with survivors of sexual abuse her words reveal so much to both those struggling, those abusing and those in charge of making sure others are protected. It is so incredibly sad that so many precious young lives had to be tainted so deeply before this case came to light. It always grips me when I see people who have been wounded by the people who were meant to love them. The life-changing …

Killing Rats, Stealing Cars and why it matters

But the reality was, the police were trying to save this thief. You see just before the car was stolen, the owner placed some crackers on the front seat. A tempting treat for the thief, but not intended for him. The crackers were there for rats that had infested the owners house. He had laced them with a deadly poison that would kill the thief should he eat any. The owner told the police, triggering a fervent search for the thief…to save him. We are often like that with God – we run, thinking He wants to hurt, punish or kill us – but the reality is He is pursuing us to save us – to forgive us. Is it time you turned back to God? Is it time to give up and allow Him to forgive you? To hand ownership of ‘your’ life over to Him?

Two Blokes walk in to a Church…which one are you?

One walks to the front, sits down…. Modern day Bible parables… Scripture(s): Luke 18:10-14 Description:Today for Jesus time I talked of two men, Timothy & Phillip. Tim was quite rich, looked nice, was polite & kind & helped people all the time. He was a ‘good christian’. He went to church & was very thankful for what God had done & who he was. Philip, the other guy, was rough & rude – and sometimes stole things. He went to church only occasionally & didn’t talk to anyone. I talked of the way they prayed and then asked the younger …
