Longing for my true home

Longing for my true home

Some days are worse than others, today wasn’t great.

As far as pain goes- it wasn’t as bad as many days. Health wise it was a struggle, making simple tasks seem monumental.

Relating and parenting overwhelming, let alone building or earning money.  In the physical, it really is too hard – overwhelming an understatement.

But there’s more – faced with my failure to live up to who I want to be for God. This Father who saved me from so much, who showed so much love and grace, He deserves so much better!

When I try, I fail. When I have the opportunity, I don’t take it. When I should fight, I run instead.

Why can’t this God who controls everything remove pain? Bring health? Restore my mind? Increase my faith? Make me obedient?

The truth is, He has done all those things to a degree. But it’s not complete – and some days it’s hard.

But once we’ve met this Father, experienced His love and faithfulness, enjoyed His comfort, understood His character, you can rest easy.

While physical pain disables, emotions fluctuate, health declines and faith wavers… He remains the same. Forever!

He is a Good Father and can do no wrong. If we think He can or has, we are simply deceived and don’t know Him.  But take heart – He understands *everything* you have, are and will go through.

He not only sees how your situation can be resolved, He has orchestrated it and is there with you right now.

He never left.

  • Run to Him.
  • Rest. In. Him.
  • Rely on Him
  • Receive from Him.
  • Revel with Him.
  • Relate through Him.
  • Reach out for Him.

It doesn’t take long with Him for our perspective to change…

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT)
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:1-4 (NLT) Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

Lord, sorry that we fail You so often. Please transform us and help us to run to You instead of run away. May we experience Your love and grace.

Please help us understand who You are so we can honour you and serve You until Your Kingdom comes.

ThankYou for Your love and mercy.
