He asked me “are you born again?”. “Yes” I answered,” I was born again 23 years ago when Jesus rescued me off a cliff…”
I asked him and he replied that his wife, who had now passed away, was born again but he ‘couldn’t be’. I asked what he meant. His answer saddened and angered me…
He had attended many meetings with his late wife, mentioning the name of a particular (Charismatic type) church. They had prayed over him and talked to him but “when they touched me on my forehead, I could not fall down”. His interpretation was that God didn’t want Him, had not re-birthed him.
I was able to share with him how falling down is not a Biblical practise and certainly not an indicator of being born again.
The way to be born again is actually very, very simple and it does not require any input from anyone else, (let alone being pushed over or falling on the floor!).
Please pray for ‘Bob’, (not his real name), I will be sending him a Bible he can understand and a book or two. I pray the Lord opens His eyes to the Truth of the actual Gospel.
Lord, please work in ‘Bobs’ life despite the false teaching she has been subject to. Thank you for his life & the way you have protected him. Please let your love & Truth be evident to him.
