What you focus on today will affect all your tomorrows

What you focus on today will affect all your tomorrows

It is amazing how easy it is to put things off: until tomorrow, next week, next month, next year…

Whether it is eating healthier, exercising (more), education, time with God, spouse, children, parents etc, there is only one time to start: NOW!

Let’s be clear: what you put your time and effort into today, will be reflected in all your tomorrows.

What you focus on today reflected in tomorrows Jesus Wild Eden

If your time and focus is on your friends, your friendships will grow, maybe at the detriment of your career.

If you spend more time with this person or that than your spouse, your marriage will be at risk.

If you spend more time at work than quality time with your children, your retirement may be comfortable, but likely very lonely.

As the world’s wisest man said:

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.”

As Jesus said: building you life on anything other than Him would end in disaster. 1Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” Matthew 7:24-27 (NLT)

Our bodies, our lives, our relationships – they all reflect what we have focussed on.

My encouragement for you today, as well as for myself, is to focus on what is important, what lasts, what is eternal. And that, dear friends, is rooted, based and secure…in Jesus!
