Hey Christian: Position Yourself!

Hey Christian: Position Yourself!

A news reader happy to segregate society and declare that the Saviour of the world should have been killed in the womb.

A successful Christian filmmaker whose whole catalogue of film was deliberately erased by Google.

The Breastfeeding Association investigating the use of the supposedly offensive term of ‘mother’.

A veteran police officer under the same for stating biological facts on his personal Facebook page. Christian bakers, conservative judges, teachers, professors and sports people: all fair game.

The laws of the land are quickly sliding down a slippery slope they said did not exist. It is now virtually impossible to debate with the irrational thoughts and positions of at least 1 generation, it can be incredibly disconcerting and overwhelming.

The temptation is one of two things: get angry, come out on the attack, entering endless debates that go nowhere or become a recluse and retreat into isolation. I want to offer a third as a Biblical, warranted and powerful third suggestion…

Position yourself.

Position yourself first and foremost, in His arms, at His feet, deep into His Word. Make it your personal, daily, continual place to live from.

But also realise that there are only two options for your country and, by extension, your culture.

One is that the culture we love, the one that was influenced by Biblical values to care for others, will end. That may seem extreme to some, but you can see that this is the logical next step for a declining culture.

Maybe you have studied sociology or anthropology and know that this same plight has hit every other culture throughout history that has abandoned the foundational laws of society (Premarital Chastity and Strict Monogamy after marriage). That certain fate is annihilation within 3 generations – either in cessation or invasion by another culture (one that still holds to Premarital Chastity and Strict Monogamy). For us, that is around 2070, the only question is ‘how’? 1https://wildeden.com.au/news/soul-food/2022/the-death-of-the-west-why-my-grandchildren-will-never-know-the-australia-i-love/

Maybe you are not aware of history, but you may have read the Bible and digested what it says: that those who abandon God’s laws, those who choose sin, become deeply delusional. 2But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. Romans 1:18-32 (NLT)

Their nation is always eventually overrun by another nation. Sometimes for a short time (if they turn back to God) other times it is for good.

Either way, you know what is coming to the Western culture, but what is required?

Position yourself!

You need to be positioned. What other country or culture will take over? What does that look like for you or your family? How do you live with and for God in the face of this monumental shift in life and living conditions? Not owning anything? Being ruled by a foreign power or being in literal physical danger?

Will speaking their language help? Owning land or being out of debt, will it make a difference? Your physical conditioning, will it be a benefit? Your comfort and possessions up until this point will mean nothing, or may in fact leave you in a worse position. A Bible verse come to mind:

Your gold and silver are corroded. The very wealth you were counting on will eat away your flesh like fire. This corroded treasure you have hoarded will testify against you on the day of judgment. James 5:3 (NLT)

That is talking of the final judgement, but maybe it will be relevant for your earthy stint too. Hence I feel to give a charge to any who may be willing to listen:

Position yourself!

The second, distant possibility is that God will raise up a new nation or culture from a sub culture within this one. A remnant if you like – one that has returned to Him genuinely, not just in word, but in deed. It would take a genuine miracle, but in Him all things are possible no?!

It would be a people who love and seek and worship and serve Him…and Him alone, having turned from their sins.

Because of this stance, they will have been making decisions to follow and serve Him and not just enjoy their lives. The sacrifices they have made are for their King and for the sake of others. He will dwell in and amount them, no matter the outcome.

I would prefer to be in the latter group – what about you?

No matter which group you are in / prefer / believe is the outcome, the very same advice and tactics are what is called for:

Speak, draw, teach, illustrate, share, spread and proclaim the Gospel. The true one, not the Luke-warm religious deceived and powerless one. But the true Gospel: “repent of your sin and follow Jesus, the King who is coming again to judge and rule”. Share it with conviction and enthusiasm and tenacity and endurance.

It is all that matters.

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 (NLT)

But if you or your descendants abandon me and disobey the decrees and commands I have given you, and if you serve and worship other gods, 20 then I will uproot the people from this land that I have given them. I will reject this Temple that I have made holy to honor my name. I will make it an object of mockery and ridicule among the nations. 2 Chronicles 7:19-20 (NLT)

Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
5 But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 He will judge everyone according to what they have done. 7 He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. 8 But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness. 9 There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile. 10 But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism. Romans 2:4-11 (NLT)

Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 4 They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”
5 They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. 6 Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. 7 And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. 2 Peter 3:3-10 (NLT)
