King Charles Coronation It’s all about the King.

King Charles Coronation It’s all about the King.

I only watched a little of the highlights of King Charles’ coronation – but of the few bits I saw…

1) Even though a lot of the ceremony was very subdued and for some quite boring, *nobody* else in the room got any attention. Live video coverage around the world from every angle, yet no mention of any of the ‘super important’ people in the room. In fact, if the *most* well known had dropped dead we wouldn’t know – the only thing important in the room? The king! And so it will be at the end of time – we will all only be aware of the King of Kings as He opens the book and our secret sins are revealed to all.

2) Despite the unimaginable amount of money spent, things seemed hap hazard and less than polished. Did you wonder why? Because we are so used to seeing ‘perfection’ in rehearsed movie scenes and edited tiktoks. Life is *nothing* like that and immersing yourself in these things (or letting your kids) will only lead to discontentment.

3) Britain, (and the West in general), have a clear foundation in Christian thought. Whether you are atheist or religious, if you know history, you will know that Jesus’ influence on our culture was *huge*. Jesus’ principles are why people have equality, why killing and rape have been banned, why slavery was abolished, why education and healthcare is available to all. Before Jesus? You would *not* have liked it – kicking Him out will end in a return to some horrendous realities.

4) The king & queen at their core are humans too. Watching them talk and laugh outside with ‘commoners’ was amazing. Reminded me of the way that Jesus, the Creator and King of the universe is now also a human. Coming down to our level, living among us, to rescue us from the coming terror – incredible!

5) Some people were camping out for days and weeks to get a glimpse of the king. Are we waiting with the same expectation, dedication and excitement?

If God has opened your eyes – if you are aware of what Jesus has done for you – if you now know that this world and everything in it is fading away – that His Kingdom that lasts forever is just a heartbeat away…*surely* we should be lining the ‘streets’, shouting His praise & introducing others to Him?

It should be hard not too!

He created
He agreed
He came
He submitted
He paid
He redeemed
He conquered
He rules
He is COMING BACK!

And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “LORD, who has believed our message?”

Romans 10:15-16 (NLT)
