I went to a country fete the other day.
There was a raffle to raise money for animal welfare. I hadn’t planned to participate, but I LOVE raffles: so many great prizes – and surprises.
And this one certainly was a surprise…I won a puppy! I hadn’t taken much notice of the prizes being drawn, but this little fella was sooooo cute!
His tail wagged the whole way home…
My excitement was short lived though: As I passed a park I started thinking of all the things that would change.
I would have to walk it every day – feed it & pick up it’s mess. No more sleep-ins on Sunday. My career might suffer – and then the kicker: I couldn’t go away on holiday!!
That actually made the decision fairly easy:
“I won’t even tell my family / friends… I’ll just get rid of it.”
I mean thinking logically, I’m not attached to it; it is very young and it won’t feel much.
I’ll just use a hammer or brick to crush it’s skull & then bury it in the backyard.
My house. My dog. My Choice.
That is MUCH better than bringing the poor thing into a home that isn’t ready for it. I mean it might not have the best life, so it is best for everybody if I just kill it.
There are people that say they will give it a nice home but why should I have to put up with it in MY HOME for a full weekend? It’s MY home – they have NO RIGHT to say what I can or can’t do in my home.
They believe it has worth – that is THEIR opinion, their religion – how DARE they try to force me to follow their stance!?
For a brief moment I got tricked into thinking I really should be more careful when buying raffle tickets…
But NO WAY!! Raffles are so fun & why should I miss out? No one has the right to tell me what to do in my house with MY puppy – who do they think they are anyway??!!
I’ll enter raffles & if I want to kill the puppies SO WHAT?! It is nobody else’s business!
Next fete here we go!

If you have fallen for the lie that ending a pregnancy is no big deal & you feel guilty – I extend to you my love and support. I understand the guilt & pain of the decision you have made & am here to tell you that you can be free of the guilt & shame. God loves you despite your actions – He sent His Son to die for this very reason.
The world wants to tell you that it is no big deal – a clump of cells – but you already know this is false. They preyed on your naivety, then they left you to your own torment. Every sleepless night, every tear though, God was there and felt with you. He knows your soul and He knows the soul of the one who was killed.
It is safe with Him. He longs for you to be free. He paid for the same.
Allow yourself to fall into His arms of love. Allow His forgiveness to wash over you. Complete and perfect forgiveness. Purity. Grace and love.
I pray that you will have an ever increasing experience of His love for you.
