Nativity #20 Pure Gold

Nativity #20 Pure Gold

This set made of high quality glazed china, is quite large and ornate.

Two things stand out clearly with this set:

1) GOLD:
Nearly every figure has some gold. This speaks clearly of the very reason the Magi (most people think wise men) travelled so far to honour this baby…HE WAS KING!

Being astrologers influenced by Daniel (you know Daniel in the lions den Daniel!), they were looking for the King, born in Bethlehem, in the line of Judah who would save His people. Amazing things in the heavens shouted ‘King King King’ 1For more on this incredible journey, read this: https://wildeden.com.au/news/soul-food/for-thought/2016/let-the-magic-of-the-wise-men-give-you-joy-this-christmas/ and so they came to honour Him with gifts:

Gold (because He is King), Frankincense (He is Priest) and Myrrh (He was born to die).

2) WHITE:
Everything is so white and clean…NOTHING like it would have been when the actual events were happening!

But clean clothes is not the point. White speaks of purity…

Were the shepherds pure? No
Were the Magi pure? No
Was the Joseph pure? No
Was the Mary pure? No!

The only One pure in the whole scene was Jesus!

He was so pure, that when He died on the cross, He purchased purity for everyone. Yes, you included! No matter what you have done, no matter where you have been, His death can make you completely pure.

All you have to do is:
Turn away from your sin & believe in the fact that He paid the penalty for what you have done.

Seriously, your sin has earned you your wages…the wages of sin is death (eternal death). Without Jesus, you have no eternal hope at all. But with Him, you are completely forgiven, pure… forever!

No wonder people came from all over to worship and honour Him…
Look at the people in this set – they are all looking contemplatively at Jesus. You can almost see the question on their minds:

“Surely *this* is not the King, the Saviour of the world?”

How weak, how vulnerable, how poor!

But they discovered something precious, something pure, something infinitely powerful. And they worshiped Him.

Will you?!
