Another different set, this one is made out of paper!
Paper, virtually the opposite of the last set, is incredibly fragile and easy to damage. No strength at all!
This reminds us of Jesus’ humanity: weak and easy to destroy… OR SO IT SEEMED!!!!
Helpless baby in a manger. The ruling government wanted Him gone. The religious mob wanted Him dead. A powerful king had dozens of babies killed trying to eliminate Him.
False accusations, conspiracies, attempted assassinations – they all failed. Eventually, charges were brought against Him that were true: He claimed to be God and King… Neither side could stand for that!
These charges seemed to do the trick: finally this nuisance would be gone for GOOD!
Rejected, deserted, tortured, publicly killed, buried in the ground for a full 3 days with a full guard, but none of that mattered:
BOOM!
Defeating death, back to life in the flesh, He banished sin, disarmed evil: what seemed *impossible* confronts us all, forcing us to respond. Today. Right Now.
Will you try to deny His existence despite the evidence? (There is TONS!)
Will you try to ignore what His death represents? (It is a LOT!)
Will you try to reject the One who rose again, who rules forever from heaven? (The consequences are BIG!)
Or will you submit to this meek King this Christmas?
He is worthy of your love, your obedience, your worship.
He is worth your dignity, your comfort, your life.
He will never let you down, leave you or abuse you.
This may just be a paper representation of a historical event, but it is One of the most powerful events in history. Where the perfect King of Heaven, was born as a helpless baby in the very world He created. Submitted Himself to the very people He came to save and willingly died for your sin.
He did it so you could have eternal life.
Don’t let this most precious gift go to waste!
