A Month of serving?

The last few weeks have been CRAZY with a capital K.

Often we have deadlines with working on the house, jobs or building, however this last 6 weeks or so has been mainly about entertaining and blessing people - birthdays, Christmas, New Years and more.

Today, being my birthday I would have liked to have had time to reflect, but this is the best I could manage:

The instigator to it all was Sharmini's birthday. We wanted to use the event to say thank you and bless people who have supported us in so many ways over the last few years.

There was much to do - especially seeing though the list of people coming quickly grew to 140 so there was a LOT of prep needed!

Even before this there was a HUGE list of jobs to do like the kitchen (concrete) bench tops, running water, tidy up, games planning, marquees, tip runs, the list seemed endless.

For the four weeks leading up to the party, we started early and finished late. Business and personal times got slashed as we focussed in on getting specific jobs finished.
After finishing the concrete benches, the front lounge room was like a cement factory. It took days of vacuuming, chipping, scrubbing, blowing, mopping and mopping some more to get it cleaned.

After!

On Sharmini's actual birthday, she opted to work towards the party - we aimed for 40 jobs and completed 42, still with enough time for a quick visit to the beach!

We had to install cupboards,, bench tops, do plumbing - all sorts!

We did virtually NOTHING today! My parents came for a quick visit, a few parcels, feeding & moving the animals then a cook up of a family favourite Honey Chilli Chicken...
