Am I a Bigot?

You decide…

I believe that each human has the right to life, healthy food, shelter, safety and honest, open, connected, healthy relationships.
I believe that if someone tries to violate the rights of #1 above every human has the obligation to do something about it.
I believe that any human who stands by as others are neglected or mistreated are void of love and neglecting part of the very essence of being human, not to mention a God-given mandate.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that murder is wrong.
I believe that rape is wrong.
I believe that theft is wrong.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that we need laws or rules to function in society - in fact in humanity.
I believe these laws should be clear and known by all, and the consequences too.
I believe that these laws should revolve around Jesus’ 2nd greatest commandment: “Love your neighbour as yourself”.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that the guilty should be punished first, THEN rehabilitated - only if repentant.
I do not believe a prison with food & tv is punishment NOR rehabilitation.
I believe that the guilty should pay back the victim AND society, not have the option to freeload.
I believe the ‘justice’ system needs complete overhaul and at times is more morally corrupt than many who are found guilty.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that people can live by punishment and love - and we all get to choose.
I believe that if people follow Jesus’ greatest law (“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, strength”), they will start to fulfil the second (Love your neighbour as yourself”) and become more loving, with less need for punishment.
I believe that we can ignore that, remain self-focussed and rely on punishment for direction - and fill the prisons.
I believe it is loving to inform them of this, to help them turn to God instead of rely on punishment.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that drugs are bad for you (legal and illegal) - but I don’t think they are the cause of the problem.
I believe that anything can be an addiction, from alcohol to coffee to work to praise to charity to news to porn to religion and everything in between.
I believe that many people are addicted to many things that affect those around them terribly, while they themselves remain unaware.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that physical abuse, while terrible, does not have anywhere near the lasting effects of emotional abuse.
I believe that many ‘3rd world’ cultures are many times more emotionally healthy than the ‘west’.
I believe that super-imposing our own lifestyle and physical values onto others is ignorant, arrogant, foolish and damaging.
Am I a bigot?

I believe there is one human race: though many facets, none more valuable than another.
I believe there is a clear distinction between humans and animals of any type, clearly seen in many realms.
I believe that evidence points towards this universe being designed as a habitat for humans, to be treated as such.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that there is a God, who made everything and can be - even wants to - be known.
I believe that when we act against His law (sin) we remain under His wrath and are at His mercy.
I believe that no persons sin is any worse or better than my own, is always against God, even if the immediate consequences to other humans may differ.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that every person is free to believe what they like, whether true or not and be held accountable for their own beliefs.
I believe that no one can be forced into any belief or religion at a heart level. Ever. Each person has complete free will.
I believe that sharing religion, truth and experience with each other should be a normal part of healthy society.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that the Bible has unending wisdom and can be a great comfort, challenge and can also seem to be the source of great ignorance.
I believe if you meet it’s author, you will hang on, revel in and live from every word - ‘religiously’(!)
I believe other religious books can be shown quickly to contain vast error and lack of true love.
Am I a bigot?

I believe that following the guidelines of the manufacturer is the wisest when it comes to humans and society.
I believe that there are always consequences - often for the vulnerable - when we neglect God’s way.
I believe that abortion, re-defining marriage, the slave trade, racism, government control and the legal system all affect the vulnerable.
Am I a bigot?


I believe that every human is vulnerable to deception both from self, others and spirituality.
I believe that all truth comes from God and can free any person.
I believe that His love and the sacrifice of His Son (Jesus) enables any person to be forgiven - pure in His sight, but not without accountability to others and consequences to self / society.
Am I a bigot?

I believe my opinions are right, based on facts, research and/or experience - if you disagree I think you are wrong
I believe you have the right to your opinions and beliefs, whether they are true or not.
I believe that we can talk, share and even love each other even with fiercely opposing views…
Am I a bigot?
